Episode 31 - Season 2020/ 21

Across The Park Podcast

Tuesday, 13 April 2021 - 1 hour 34 minutes

This weeks episode begins with the reds, Gary Murray and Phil Roberts, looking back at their first Premier League win at Anfield this calendar year after TAA’s late winner against Villa. They discussed the importance of getting back to winning ways and putting the pressure on the teams around them by finishing the game in fourth. A listener question is discussed regarding Trent's potential England selection/ omission for the forthcoming Euros in the summer. With the second leg of the CL quarter final against Real Madrid coming tomorrow, Phil and Gary go straight into previewing the game and what the possible team selection could be and how they see Klopp approaching the game. The blues this week, Andrew Price and Gary Judge, move onto Everton’s continued poor form after the dismal 0-0 with Brighton on Monday night. They exchange views on where the problems are and the midfield get the majority of the scrutiny. Some social media questions follow the review including a hypothetical of who would be under more pressure out of Klopp and Ancelotti if both teams finished with no trophies and outside the European places in the league, which causes a lot of debate between the lads. Next up is the popular higher or lower where Phil has prepared another slight alteration on the usual format. The blues move on to previewing their Friday night home fixture against Spurs and how they see the game going before the reds do the same for their game away at Leeds on Monday night. The show sees the return with another popular feature where phil gives clues for a who am I for, firstly, an Everton player followed by a Liverpool player.
