Episode 35 - Season 2020/21

Across The Park Podcast

Monday, 10 May 2021 - 1 hour 33 minutes

This weeks show begins with the red half of the show, Terry McGivern and Gary Murray, finally being able to discuss a victory at Anfield again after Liverpool best Southampton 2-0. The blues, Ian Mills and Gary Judge, follow this by agreeing they’ve been “sucked back in” after Everton come away from The London Stadium with a 0-1 against West Ham. There is a social media section which sees questions to the blues about brands and Davies/ Gomes whereas the reds face a question on the front four and how they work/ don’t work with each other. There is a question for a bit of fun which includes both sides discussing a potential player swap. This weeks look back in history see the blues look back to a club legend retiring in 2006. The reds look back to 1998 and Roy Evans’ solo spell as manager coming to an end after a defeat to Derby County which seen Gerard Houllier join the club as joint manager. Next is a brief game of higher or lower where Judgey uses more of from this season as opposed to more historic statistics. Finally, the previews begin with the reds talking over the importance of two away victories against Man Utd on Thursday and West Brom on Sunday and the blues end the show with a look at the two home games against Aston Villa and Sheff Utd and the potential of securing European football for next season.
