Shaun Tilley

From 1999 until 2005, Shaun Tilley was the soundtrack to the afternoon rush hour across Liverpool, the North West and North Wales on Radio City. Now his Big Drive Home is back, weekdays between 4-7pm exclusively on Liverpool Live. You may have heard his voice elsewhere in the region too on Rock FM and nationally on Radio Luxembourg, Capital Gold and Magic plus the BBC’s My Radio 1 and Top of the Pops Playback series. Shaun was also one of the DJ’s behind the hugely successful Floorfillers compilation albums featuring the anthems he played at his weekly club nights. And he’ll be spinning those iconic dance tracks all over again during the final hour of his show every Friday.

Favourite TV shows & why? The Sopranos, simply the greatest TV show ever made with the best scripts and the best actors

3 things that really make you angry?

I’m pretty chilled so only 1 springs to mind. People driving around in broad daylight with headlights on.

 Who is your hero and why? Too many to mention but I’ve been blessed to have worked with a few of them

If you were Mayor of Merseyside, what 3 things would you change?

1 –  Wirral’s beaches getting far better press and promotion 

2 –  Mobile speed cameras that catch those doing double the speed they should be doing on residential roads at 4am

3 –  An annual celebration of our finest music acts who’ve dominated the charts for decades

What would be written on your gravestone? Worked hard and loved his family 

How would your friends describe you? Straight talking with a dry sense of humour but always supportive and encouraging 

 What are you best characteristics? Very loving towards family and a loyal friend

What are you worst characteristics? Stubborn and always striving for perfection
