Episode 27 - Season 2020/21

Across The Park Podcast

Tuesday, 16 March 2021 - 1 hour 35 minutes

This week's episode of Across The Park Podcast starts with the blues, Ian Mills and Gary Judge, discussing their continued disappointing home form after their defeat to the hands of Burnley, giving their opinions on why the so called lesser teams are causing them problems at Goodison Park. There are then some passionate social media questions levelled at the lads, asking about the inconsistencies and how much blame the manager should take. The reds, Gary Murray and Terry McGivern, then give their thoughts after Liverpool got back to winning ways, firstly, against RB Leipzig, in Budapest, which saw them progress to the quarter finals of the Champions League, followed by their 1-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux. Also covered is a question from a listener regarding potential outgoings and incomings at the end of the season. Fun feature Higher/Lower is next up, with Liverpool hat tricks and Everton top goal scorers forming the subjects before the lads then look back at "This Week in History", where the red half enjoy discussing club legend Steven Gerrard's hat-trick against the toffees at Anfield back in 2012, while the blues look back at 2002 when Walter Smith lost his job after a defeat at the Riverside to Middlesbrough, to then be replaced by David Moyes. The show ends with an FA Cup quarter final preview, with Everton playing host to Manchester City with the blues debating whether the blues can pull off a shock win and progress to the semi-final stage.
